Jayson J. is a Miami native that was exposed to music at a very early age. His parents noticed his music abilities and quickly capitalized on them starting his music education at the age of 6. He then picked up the flute in 6th grade and trombone in 9th. He learned both instruments in a matter of months and was placed in advanced ensembles shortly after. At around age 14 Jayson J. was introduced to his two first turntables as a gift from his aunt, who also noticed his ear for music. He would spend hours on end teaching himself the basics of mixing, editing, scratching, and transitioning, in an age where there were no computers, no controllers, or any modes of facilitating the complex art of DJing. It was him, his headphones, his turntables, a mixer, a stereo, and a few records.

 Since then Jayson J. has held multiple residencies in many of Miami’s hottest venues such as The Cove, Metropolis, Space, Amika, Dream, Novecento, and Sunset Tavern, to name a few, and has been sponsored by retailers such as Express and Puma performing at their fashion shows, stores, and special events. He has also performed at numerous private events and weddings for Miami’s elite, including a private event for the Bush Family, fundraisers for Congressman Kendrick Meek, and NFL star Sean Jones’ wedding. Jayson J. is currently furthering his musical abilities in the music production program at Miami-Dade College, and spends his time remixing and producing music.

 When he’s not in his studio, he is researching new music and putting out new mixes. His style is best defined as an open, eclectic mix of many musical genres. In one of his sets he might go from an 80′s beat laid over a Top 40 acapella to a Top 40 house remix, to a Latin acapella over a Top 40 beat. It is Jayson J’s mission to re-invent his sound in every set he plays, while still rocking the party and keeping the dance floors packed all night long.
