A passionate DJ with an infatuation with music and a thirst for success.
Born in Bronx, New York, the birthplace of Hip Hop music, Fatou Sampson, know as DJ Nyla, spices up her mixes with a powerful fusion of musical elements. A multi-genre mixologist of Funk, R&B, House, Hip Hop and Pop, she has adapted a rejuvenating approach to her artistry. “Being influenced by many genres of music allows for variety in my mixes, both in innovatively and stylistically.”
Dedicating many years honing and perfecting her craft on the turn tables, DJ Nyla plays with the confidence and enthusiasm to leave an audience with a reverence of musical connection. “I’m a DJ, but I’m a huge fan of music, it’s my identity.” A style of delivering a blend of chunky mixtures, Nyla adapts her sound to any venue setting.
Her diverse complexity and ability to explore beats, rhythms and melodies, aids to the magnetic chemistry she has with her audience. “My job is to leave listeners with an elevated musical experience and energized connection. My goal is to make an impact in a male dominated business and show that female dj’s are more than just a pretty face.”
