DJ Talent

Coming straight out of Brooklyn, the land of Biggie and Jay-Z, DJ EsXence, (Michael Forde) is a multi-talented MC, Choreographer, Stylist, and most of all a world-class DJ. EsXence was mentored by the legendary NY DJ, Little Louie Vega from “Masters at Work”. EsXence started out dancing from the time he could walk, and began performing with and choreographing for many artists and dance theaters in the underground dance seen in NY. In the mid – 90′s, he met Erik Morillo (“I like to Move It Move It”), who introduced him to Louie Vega, and Michael was hooked.  EsXence worked with Little Louie Vega for about a year, and then made his debut as a special guest resident, at the legendary Limelight in NYC.

During his diverse career, EsXence has traveled around the world as a DJ performing in clubs from Tokyo to London, where he resided for a while to further expand his art form and expansion of music. In addition to his NY roots, EsXence lived in Chicago for two years and entrenched himself in the deep Chicago house music culture. While living there, EsXence worked with legendary Chicago DJ Mark Grant, while being managed and mentored by Scott Vegas. Additionally, EsXence worked as a DJ/MC with many renowned celebrity party planners across the country, including as Colin Cowie and David Starks.

With a passion for modeling and fashion, Michael launched his own label, M. Forde Designs in 2009. Michael Forde the model and designer, has been featured on the Celebrity Apprentice, ESPN, L’uomo Vogue, and in 2005, was voted by Esquire Magazine as best dressed man in America, (among 10 cities and 3000 candidates) in which he was featured on NBC’s Today Show.  This DJ is a modern day Renaissance man who defines the term “Model DJ”.
